The PACE Center is housed in the Howard University Continuing Education. The Director of Howard University Continuing Education oversees the Office of International Programs in which the PACE Center is housed. The Center is served by a senior-level, world-class team of experts from academia and the profession. The PACE Center's directors and instructors each possess varied credentials with a wealth of experience and academic expertise in international development, health, management and business.

Director, Howard University Continuing Education
Peggy Ann Berry, PhD.
Peggy Ann Berry has a background in law and zoology and has been working with Howard University Continuing Education (HUCE) for 20 years and has been its Director for the past nine years. She has experience in the educational field including teaching and administrative positions at Columbus College in Georgia, the University of Washington DC, and Anacostia High School of Washington DC. Dr. Berry began working at Howard University Continuing Education as an Assistant Dean in May 1986. Later, she was appointed to the position of Associate Dean. After HUCE was restructured in 1997, Dr. Berry assumed the Director position and oversees the various programs, departments and personnel connected with the HUCE.

Program Manager, Office of International Programs
Rosalyn King, PharmD, MPH
As a member of the pharmacy and public health communities, Dr. Rosalyn King has over 30 years experience in the advancement of the profession of pharmacy and global health issues for resource constrained populations. She currently serves as the Director of the Pharmacists and Continuing Education (PACE) Center at Howard University. Her areas of expertise include Pharmacy and Public Health Practices, International Health and Development, Continuing Professional Development, Health Services Administration and Program Evaluation. Before coming to Howard, Dr. King was the Director of the International Health Institute, and Associate Professor at Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science, as well as a Public Health Advisor for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). From 1990 - 2000, she chaired the International health committee of the United States Pharmacopoeia as a member of its Committee of Revision. Recently, she was the Chairperson for the 79th Annual National Conference of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria in 2006 and the Honors Convocation Speaker for the College of Pharmacy at the University of Maryland. She has consulted and worked in Africa, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and South Asia on global health issues related to the roles of pharmacists in healthcare systems.

Clavenda Bright-Parker, B.Sc. Pharm, FPC.Ph, serves as OIP/PACE Center's International Liaison for West Africa. She is the founding President of the Pharmaceutical Association of Liberia (PAL), the founding President of the West African Pharmaceutical Foundation (WAPF) and a founding fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (WAPCP).

Keith Crawford, Ph.D., is an Adjunct Professor, Howard University College of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology. He lectures on anti-microbial and anti-parasitic therapy, and endocrine pharmacology. In 2001, he served as the Director of Clinical Research for Howard University School of Pharmacy. He then served as the Clinical Director for the National Minority AIDS Education and Training Center. Dr. Crawford has published both basic science and clinical research. He has received patents for some of his research innovations and currentl has grants for HIV clinical research.

Kenneth Dandurand, R.Ph., M.S., is Co-Founder of MedNovations, Inc., and Clinical Pharmacy Associates (CPA). His clinical pharmacy experience in community, hospital, and managed care settings includes his roles as leader of the pediatric OB/GYN satellite pharmacy at Massachusetts General Hospital and Director of the Pharmacy Department of Greater Southeast Community Hospital in Washington, D.C. He has served on national pharmacy and therapeutics committees for Rx Management and Pharmacy Direct Network. Mr. Dandurand has published his clinical research, currently holds an adjunct faculty appointment at Howard University College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Health Science and is a clinical faculty member of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

Henry N. Fomundam, B.S., Pharm.D., is a Pharmaceutical Care expert who currently serves the Regional Director (Africa) for the Center.s HIV/AIDS Pharmaceutical Care Project: Regional Outreach Addressing AIDS through Development Strategies (ROADS) and is based in South Africa. Dr. Fomundam worked in several facilities in Washington DC as a pharmaceutical care clinician including monitoring and managing HIV treatment at the Washington DC General Hospital. He has served as a faculty member at Howard University.s PACE Center since 1997. Dr. Fomundam was Coordinator of an HIV/AIDS public health training program in South Africa and supervised HIV/AIDS community-based research projects in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland and Lesotho. He is on several national and international committees including, Blue Cross Blue Shied national Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee; the national clinical trials Committee in South Africa, Pharmacovigilance committee, Nelson Mandela Foundation HIV/AIDS committee, U.S. Institute of Medicine PEPFAR Evaluation committee (for all 15 PEPFAR countries), Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences/World Health Organization (CIOMS/WHO) clinical trials committee. He has published research work, commissioned work, training manuals and handbooks in HIV/AIDS management.

Marcellus Grace, BS., MS., PhD., has served many years in the field of pharmacy education. His many positions include: Chief Executive Officer and Founding Partner, MediTab Pharmaceuticals LLC; Professor of Pharmacy Administration and Associate Dean, College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, Howard University; Professor of Pharmacy Administration, College of Pharmacy, Xavier University of Louisiana; Tri-Regional Pharmacy Manager for Strategic National Stockpile, State of Louisiana Bioterrorism Response Unit; Dean and Professor of Pharmacy Administration, College of Pharmacy, Xavier University of Louisiana, New Orleans, Louisiana.

Uford S. Inyang., Ph.D., FPSN. Dr. Inyang has worked in national and international organizations. He is the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD), Abuja, Nigeria. Prior to this position, he served as a Director of Health Sciences Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Nigeria and first Nigerian Executive Secretary, West African Pharmaceutical Federation (WAPF). He is a member of several Federal Government of Nigeria Boards such as Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN), National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), and the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD). Dr. Inyang is a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), and a foundation fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists.

Grace Jennings, PhD. In her role as the Project Coordinator, Grace Jennings is responsible for day-to-day administrative support for the GHAIN and ROADS projects at the Center. Prior to her position at OIP, Dr. Jennings worked at the Howard University Continuing Education as Manager of the Early Morning/Evening and Weekend Program, the Project Coordinator in the Credit Division, and the International Student Services Officer assisting international students transitioning to academic life in the United States. Her doctoral degree is in International Education.

Earnest Johnson, RPh., serves as a consultant to the PACE Center. Mr. Johnson.s previous experience includes positions at Providence Hospital in Washington DC where he grew the pharmacy department from infancy to state-of-the-art accredited department as staff pharmacist, Assistant Director of Pharmacy, and Director of Pharmacy Services. He has served as President of the National Association of Black Health Systems Pharmacists.

Christopher Keeys, Pharm.D., BCPS., RPh., is CEO and Co-founder of MedNovations, Inc., and is the President of Clinical Pharmacy Associates (CPA). He is board certified in Pharmacotherapy. His professional accomplishments include directing both the clinical drug studies for a Washington-area research group and the clinical pharmacy and drug information program at Greater Southeast Community Hospital in Washington, D.C. Dr. Keeys has served on the Boards of the Washington Metro Area Society of Hospital Pharmacists, the Drug Use Review Board for Washington, D.C., and the Chesapeake Research Review, Inc. He has also been a member of the U.S.Agency for Health Care Policy and Research Group on Clinical Practice Guidelines for Urinary Incontinence. Dr. Keeys holds an adjunct faculty appointment at Howard University College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Health Science.

Ivor Livingston Ph.D.,M.P.H., C.H.E.S. Dr. Livingston has held various academic positions at the university level for over 25 years. He is currently the Acting Chair of the Department of Sociology, a Graduate Professor of Medical Sociology and Social Epidemiology in the Howard University Department of Sociology and Anthropology; and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department Community Health and Family Practice at Howard University.s College of Medicine. He is the editor of the Praeger Handbook on Black American Health. He has published on HIV/AIDS in Africa.

Gerald A. Lucas, M.B.A., trained at Howard University and the London School of Economics, has extensive experience in health care policy, management and financing on the institutional, local, national and international levels. Other areas of experience include: health services research, human resource development, emergency and disaster preparedness and health sector reform in US & developing countries. Mr. Lucas is currently the Health Policy Analyst at the District Of Columbia Department of Health, Medical Assistance Administration (Medicaid). For ten years Mr. Lucas was the Health Systems Advisor & Disaster Coordinator with the Pan American Health Organization and World Health Organization in Jamaica and Barbados. He has served as a Finance Specialist with the DC Commission on Health Care Finance.

Ahmed A. Moen, Dr.P.H., is an Associate Professor at Howard University College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences. Dr. Moen has served as a Health Systems Administrator for the District of Columbia. He taught at Howard University School of Business (Health Services Administration, Epidemiology and Primary Health Care for Allied Health Practitioners and Financial Management of Health Institutions) as well as in the College of Medicine . the Master in Public Health Program. He has consulted with Ministries of Health in Africa and Asia on health care management.

Bonaventura Obiorah., B.Pharm., PhD. Dr. Obiorah is currently the GHAIN State Coordinator for Edo State in Nigeria. Prior to this, his positions included Deputy VC in charge of administration at University of Benin (UNIBEN), Nigeria.s representative for the Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Association, President of the West African Pharmaceutical Federation and Chairman for the Edo Branch of the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria, as well as many other academic positions at the University level.

Dorothy Oqua., B. Pharm., M. Sc., PhD. Dr Oqua.s career as a pharmacist has spanned community pharmacy practice, all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice, administration and policy making, pharmaceutical research and development as well as capacity building of all cadres of pharmacy personnel including senior pharmacists, pharmacy interns, pharmacy technicians as well as community health officers. Dr. Oqua is currently the Deputy Project Director, HUCE-PACE Nigeria. Prior to this position, she was a Senior Research Fellow working in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Raw Materials Development of the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development, (NIPRD) Abuja, Nigeria.

Ponnuswamy Swamidoss, Ph.D., FACHE, FACHE, has over two decades of extensive experience as a Health Care Administrator in the United States, the Middle East and the Far East. He is an Associate Professor at Howard University in the College of Medicine, Department of Community Health and Family Practice and Associate Professor in the College of Allied Health Sciences.

Noreen Teoh BS., MPH., is a Global Health Consultant to the Center and Adjunct Associate Professor at Howard University College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Health Science. She has also served as Pharmacy Director, Tulane Medical Center. Ms. Teoh.s Global health involvement positions include: Technical Officer, WHO (palliative care), Researcher, Johns Hopkins (international medical research ethics; African women farmers. health), Consultant, Management Sciences for Health (new anti-malarial drug use in African countries; regional pooled procurement of pharmaceuticals), and Chemonics (for the DELIVER project evaluation, Malawi).

James R. Washington, BS., MA Human Resources Development, B.S., Secondary Education, MA Human Resources Development, B.S., Secondary Education, is the Special Projects Assistant at Howard University Continuing Education. As a U.S. Foreign Service Officer with USAID before his retirement in 1996, he served as Deputy Director of the Office of International Training then as Senior Advisor to the Assistant Administrator for Africa, United States Agency for International Development. He also traveled and worked in over 35 countries throughout Africa.

Anthony Wutoh PhD, RPh, is a Professor of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy Sciences at Howard University College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences. He is the Principal Investigator of the Center for Minority Health Services Research and Co-Director of the Center of Excellence at Howard University. Dr. Wutoh.s research interests include pharmacoepidemiology, outcomes research, and evaluation of large population databases, particularly in the areas of HIV/AIDS infection in older populations.
